BXB Cowley Hill Ltd is bringing forward proposals to regenerate the redundant land at the Cowley Hill Works.
The Cowley Hill Works is the largest brownfield allocation within the emerging St Helens Borough Council Local Development Plan. Its redevelopment will be a catalyst for the comprehensive regeneration of a significant part of the urban area of St Helens, whilst delivering much needed housing in a sustainable location.
The development will bring significant benefits to the local area, and approximately 250 jobs will be created throughout the lifetime of the project. Furthermore, the GVA generated by the development is expected to reach £75M whilst the estimated capital expenditure is £200M.
Following two extensive rounds of public consultation, the development team is now reviewing the feedback shared ahead of a planning application being submitted later this year. More information about this will be available on this page in due course.
BXB Cowley Hill Ltd is the first joint venture between brownfield regeneration experts, BXB Ltd and Promenade Estates.
Both organisations have a wealth of development expertise, which includes experience in bringing derelict land back into productive use. Key projects include: the former Cottam Brickworks, Preston, which secured the delivery of social housing; Bridge Mills in Tintwistle, which secured the delivery of an site that had been vacant for over 15 years and led to the delivery of much needed local housing; and the Carco Building Liverpool, which delivered private rented housing within Liverpool City Centre.
Partnerships, and working alongside public sector partners, is at the core of BXB Cowley Hill Ltd’s approach and discussions with key public sector partners have already taken place.
